This presentation is suited for professionals who provide home modifications and related services to seniors, as well as families of elderly loved ones. Fall Prevention and Survival for Seniors

Falling is one of the greatest fears for seniors. Among adults 65 and older, falls are the leading cause of injury and death. They are also the most common cause of non-fatal injuries in hospital admissions for trauma.

This workshop uses several different formats to educate people on the prevalence of falls, prevention and what to do when a fall occurs. It includes:

  • How to safely get up from a fall.
  • How to get help when necessary.
  • How to minimize the physical, mental and emotional impacts of a fall.
  • A fall risk assessment.
